Our Sustainability Promise
Sustainability is baked in to every business decision we make.
We use carbon zero electricity supplier Ecotricity for our power and a container rotation system in the wholesale side of the business to make us single use plastic free.
For retail packaging we use either home compostable produce bags or 100 % recycled PET.
By using 100% recycled plastic we become a buyer of NZ recycled plastic looking for a home, which can in turn be recycled again.
Wanaka does not currently have an industrial composting facility, and all industrially compostable packaging goes to landfill where it does even more damage than standard plastics because of the methane released upon decomposition.
Our Process
Our greens are soil grown and hand watered in a 40ft container in Hawea.
We manage humidity and temperature carefully prior to harvest, and cut each tray of greens by hand to ensure consistency and quality for every harvest.
Hi, I’m Scott. A commercial chef and local restaurant owner, turned grower and producer.
After two decades working in commercial kitchens in New Zealand and Australia, and a 10-year stint in the hospitality game in Wanaka, I’ve put the tools down and have turned my efforts to growing fresh, local produce for the restaurants and eateries of Wanaka.
I’ve got a passion for innovation and a desire to support the industry I’ve grown up in — ensuring local, high-quality, sustainably grown produce is accessible and affordable for everyone.
